Humanistic counseling focuses on providing space that is non-judgmental, affirming, and open, largely client-led. Rational Emotive Therapy focuses on avoiding self-defeating beliefs and has the therapist working with the client to examine his/her/their beliefs about a situation rather than the situation itself in order to help the client experience a more positive sense of wellbeing. JJ also incorporates a background in sexual health with mental health for sexually and gender diverse individuals.
