Dr. Tricialand M. Hilliard, affectionately known as “Dr. T” is a licensed certified professional counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. She is a National Board of Certified Counselors and Qualified Mental Health Professional. Dr.T earned her doctorate from Argosy University in Counseling Education and Supervision. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hampton University in 2005.
She has over 18 years of clinical experience working with a diverse population of adults, professionals, children, couples, and families. Dr. T’s clinical background and training for clients who have experienced; child abuse, suicide, co-occurring disorders, addictions, work conflicts, PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, sexual abuse, relationship issues, emotional regulations, work/life balance management, young adults, self-care, women and children.
She supports individuals by utilizing a holistic approach; Adlerian Therapy. Dr. T, is an Adlerian, who believes in goal-centered practices with the key concept of understanding and accepting interconnectedness through positive growth despite the situation. Developed by Alfred Adler, Individual psychology helps individuals focus their works in the present. This creates a moment for change and growth identified through self-awareness, feelings, actions and behaviors. Dr. T will work to help Identify short term goals based on strength and resilience for each lifestyle tasks; self/love, work, family, spirituality, leisure intervention in each session.
Her women focused self-care work help professionals and caregivers struggling with priorities, professional impairment, compassion fatigue and professional burn-out. With over 15 years of clinician experience, she is the subject matter expertise in gender-specific interventions to include self-care practices and overall wellness for professional Black and Brown women. Dr. T specializes in group and individual work with Black and Brown women on various lifestyle tasks combined with “Superwomen Syndrome”. In this gender-specific safe space for women therapy work on the finding your inner purpose is based on utilizing the “S.H.I.F.T” (self-healing in focused treatment).
