Congratulations on taking the first steps in your wellness journey! We are so excited that you have chosen us to partner with you on this journey. I wanted to take this opportunity to formally welcome you to The Bridges Wellness Group, LLC (BWG) and provide you with information about our approach to therapy. BWG is a wellness collaborative of wellness providers working together to provide holistic support to our clients. At BWG we recognize in the natural world there is no mind-body split, and we take an integrated and holistic approach to wellness. Our goal is to work with our clients to assist them on their journey as they bridge the distance between these self-concepts that can develop over time. This distance is brought about by our desire to become “successful”. As a society, we have embraced the belief that in order to be successful one must be a “thinking person”, and thinking people suppress their feelings and ignore fearful reactions.
While this way of thinking affords us “things” it can also leave us feeling void and empty. Untreated, these empty feelings can lead to depression, anxiety, anger, and other conditions. Because the mind, body, and spirit are intricately connected, what is happening to us physically affects us spiritually and emotionally and those emotional and spiritual things can have physical effects.
Understanding the mind, body, and spirit connection, we take a holistic approach to traditional mental health. In collaboration with other wellness partners, we work with our clients to develop treatment plans that incorporate not only traditional psychotherapy, but healthy eating, exercise, meditation, yoga, and overall wellness care.
Meeting our clients where they are, we offer two types of counseling, general and immediate. Our general counseling allows flexibility in the delivery of our therapeutic services. General counseling involves being available to the client via phone, video, or a traditional counseling session. Immediate counseling involves both the counselor and client being physically present for the counseling session.
