Dr. Nick is a seasoned mental health professional, educator, and community leader, holding counseling licensure and clinical supervision accreditation in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
His commitment to addressing complex issues is evident through certifications as a trauma specialist and Telehealth professional by the National Board of Certified Counselors. With a Doctorate in Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Leadership Coaching and Development from Capella University, Dr. Nick brings extensive academic prowess to the field.
Dr. Nick's clinical expertise spans men's mental health, BIPOC trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues. He has authored articles, presented on critical topics, and contributed to the Sage Encyclopedia of Multicultural Counseling, Social Justice, and Advocacy. His book, "Faith and Healing: Navigating Religion in Clinical Practice," provides valuable insights into the interplay between religion, spirituality, and healing in clinical contexts.
As an adjunct faculty member at Stevenson University, Bradley University, and Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Nick mentors the next generation of mental health professionals. With over two decades in human capital management, consulting, and human resources, he offers a multifaceted perspective on individual well-being within organizational contexts.
Active in community service, Dr. Nick collaborates with non-profits in the Washington metropolitan area, serving on multiple boards. His professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association, Maryland Counseling Association, The Black Doctoral Network, and his role as President of the National Association of Black Counselors.
