Yohannes Girma is a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Bowie State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri. With a strong passion for mental health advocacy, Yohannes is dedicated to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly immigrant communities, in navigating life’s challenges.
As an Ethiopian immigrant, Yohannes brings a unique perspective to his practice, offering a compassionate and culturally sensitive approach. He creates a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. Yohannes is committed to a collaborative counseling process, focusing on building self-awareness, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering personal growth.
In his free time, Yohannes enjoys exploring nature, spending quality time with friends and family, and engaging in activities that promote self-reflection and personal development. He values self-care practices such as mindfulness, journaling, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle, which he believes are key to overall well-being.
